Professional Editing Services
Elevate Your Writing with Expert Editing
I offer editing and creative support tailored to indie writers and poets. My services are crafted with care, flexibility, and a deep love of language—because your voice deserves to shine.
As an indie author and poet myself, I know how important it is to find someone reliable, communicative, and affordable. Payments plans are available for all services with a minimum $50 deposit, and you can choose a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payment plan up to 12 months. All services include a contract.

No AI Policy: I do not offer editing, consulting, or content pulling services for AI-generated writing. My work is grounded in human craft, voice, and intentionality. If I suspect a manuscript was primarily generated by AI, I may decline the project.

What’s your background and experience?I hold a degree in English with a concentration in Professional Writing and have experience editing interactive fiction manuscripts over 100,000 words in length, as well as poetry and poetry collections. I’m also a published poet and indie author. I specialize in line editing, copyediting, proofreading, and poetry feedback. Genres I prefer to work with: - Poetry (any) - Romance (open, closed, etc) - Supernatural, Omegaverse - Sports - Fantasy, Romantasy I am open to other genres as well.
-
Do you use a contract?Yes. Every project includes an agreement that outlines the scope of work, timeline, payment terms, revision policy, and mutual protections. It’s designed to keep both of us safe, clear, and aligned. If additional services are added during a project, we will revise and resign the contract.
-
Do you offer payment plans?Absolutely. I want to make professional editing accessible without financial stress. We can talk about other flexible payment options as well. Anything over $50 is available for a payment plan. You can use the quote calculator above to break to see payment plans. You can pay for up to 12 months, and break that up over weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payments.
-
Can I get a custom quote?Yes! If your project doesn’t fit one of my listed services, I’m happy to create a custom quote based on your word count, needs, and timeline. Additionally, if you are interested but have a budget that is lower than my pricing that is listed, please still reach out. We can do a free consultation to identify your most needed services and create a quote and plan that work for you.
-
Do you offer a free sample edit?Yes! I offer free 1 Chapter Sample Edit for fiction (up to 2,000 words). You can complete this form for your sample edit: https://forms.gle/WreYZzc17v1e92BEA

How long does editing take?It depends on the project length and service level, but it could be anywhere from 1 week (for a small edit of 10,000) to 2 - 7 weeks depending on size. For example, 100,000 or more would be at least 4 weeks. I aim to provide quality and I review chapters more than once during my passthrough. I also add in time in case I have personal conflicts. We will discuss timeline to understand if you have a pressing one. There could be a fee if it's very short turnaround but that's rare. The timeline we agree on will be in the contract as well.
-
How do I book you?You can: Request a free consult to talk things through or Email me directly at vi@vwpublishing.com. If you've already calculated a quote, you can send that over. After we chat and agree on scope, I’ll send a contract, invoice, and timeline.
-
Do you include revisions or back-and-forth?Yes, I do and it varies by the service. For editing, there are 2 revisions included. Please note, that doesn't cover a full manuscript. But the revisions can cover specific scenes or chapters that you would like another pass at. So, let's say for example, you got back the editing, made changes to chapter 3, 6, 8 - you can ask to review those again. Additional revisions can be booked at a reduced rate. Regarding back-and-forths & emailing, I am available for a period of 3 weeks after you receive the final version of your service. I want to ensure that your work is the best it can be and I aim to be a resource for you! After the 3 week period, you can purchase additional consulting time.
